It is with much sadness we share the news with you that Sandy Klein passed away on March 28, 2019. Sandy led a full and exciting life – President of the Monkees’ Fan Club and a junior reporter for Go Set magazine (a magazine focused on Australian teenage popular music, culture and fashion). As a reporter she met many popular musos of the times including the Easybeats. Sandy left school at the age of 16 to work in fashion. While still a teenager she would fly to Melbourne on buying trips. In her 20’s Sandy moved to Brisbane which was a very social time – dances at Cloudland, the era of hot pants, boots, miniskirts and jukeboxes. “Those were the days my friend, I wish they’d never end.”
Sandy discovered meditation when she was 19 and at 20 did her Yoga training with Swami Sarawasti. Her love and dedication to Yoga took her all over the world. She loved inspiring her students to be better people and was still holding classes from her wheelchair in December 2017. Sandy’s other talents were performing in Pantomimes and acting with the Independent Comedy Theatre. Sandy was a member of our choir for over 10 years adding her beautiful voice to the alto section.
Her greatest achievements though were being a Mum to her two children Sarah and Leon and a loving partner to her soul mate Kenny.
Our thoughts of love and support are with her family and friends at this very emotional time.
Sandy’s funeral service will be held at Gregson and Weight in Noosaville on Friday April 12th at 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
