Debra came from a very musical family & was drawn to singing in early childhood. She has been performing as a soloist, in ensembles & choirs ever since and her passion has led her to explore a wide range of musical genres. Debra studied voice with Lesley Purvis (UQ) and Margaret Nickson. She sang with a Bach ensemble while living in Germany, then with Queensland Choir, Opera Queensland chorus & Brisbane Concert Choir. Following success as a soloist in state-wide classical competitions, Debra then explored musicals, with various leading roles, including several tours with a Gilbert & Sullivan ensemble. She sang with the Brisbane-based jazz trio Diva la Différence and currently performs regularly as a soloist and mezzo-soprano in the Sunshine Coast-based classical trio Artistri.
